I planned the beginning of my road trip from Colorado to Maine around a visit with my grandchildren and a trip to Great Barrington to visit Artemesia's brick and mortar store. It was worth every moment of detailed planning.. Robin was a dream to work with.
f I only bought one item this year to add to my capsule wardrobe of less than a dozen items, this dress would be it. The lines are so flattering, the linen is heavy enough to not need a lining or a slip, with the adjustable straps you can really get the exact fit in the bodice you are looking for, and the pockets -- I am a sucker for good pockets and these are nice and deep, sewn down so that they do not "crumble in the washing" and in the perfect placement on the seams. I never thought I would buy another sleeveless piece -- but for some reason this one doesn't make me feel self-conscious.
I am 4'10' and about 105lbs. and it is hard for me to find dresses that feel this beautiful. By the way, while I was in the store I saw it on a taller, more shapely woman and it was even more stunning on her.
I will wear this with a light linen button down (the boyfriend shirt in chambray is AMAZING) or with a light cardigan in the summer -- it will also be great in the winter with a cropped cashmere turtleneck or a flannel over it. Wendy hit it out of the ballpark with this one (as with everything I tried on -- some just weren't perfect for my narrow shoulders - most were) and although I packed a lot of this 2-1/2 month trip -- it I'd had this dress in my closet before I left, I would have only needed it, and a button down, a cardigan, a pair of jeans, and I would have been perfectly wardrobed for the time I am away.
I bought the small. And it was perfect in the store, but the tightening of the woven linen after washing and drying -- is even more PERFECT! I hope this is helpful to someone who is wondering about this product line.
